Representative work

We have helped to structure different types of contests on behalf of well-known marketing companies and consumer goods producers. We render this advice and draft the resulting rules on an expedited basis.

We also help our clients to design and implement crisis management procedures, as in product recall situations, for example.

We review advertisements appearing in all types of media and evaluate them for misleading advertising compliance in addition to any other industry specific regulatory requirements, often calling on our own expertise and that of our colleagues in the Competition Law Group.

Working with our Commercial Litigation Group, we act on behalf of trademark and copyright owners to enforce their rights by stopping the sale of "gray" and counterfeit goods in Canada. We work with many different manufacturers to evaluate their product packaging and labelling prototypes before production. We advise foreign companies generally on the regulatory aspects of doing business in Canada.
