Xi Chen is an associate in our Business Law Group. Xi’s practice focuses on private and public mergers and acquisitions, internal reorganizations, private equity, venture capital, corporate finance and commercial transactions. Xi has experience working with both private and public companies in domestic and cross-border transactions. Xi also has experience advising clients on the incorporation and organization of their companies, drafting share and asset purchase agreements, shareholders agreements, and a variety of other corporate and commercial documents. Xi represents clients from a variety of industries including natural resources/mining, technology, hospitality, manufacturing, and retail.
Prior to joining Cassels Brock as an associate, Xi articled at the firm and was a first and second year summer student in 2013 and 2014 respectively. Xi is a graduate of the J.D. program from Osgoode Hall Law School. During her time at Osgoode, Xi was a member of the executive committee of the Asian Law Students of Osgoode, served as a caseworker for the Osgoode Business Clinic, and mooted competitively. In 2014, Xi went on exchange to the National University of Singapore taking courses in Chinese corporate law and international foreign investment.
Prior to attending law school, Xi obtained her Honours Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from Western University. Her area of focus was on East Asian political and economic relations. Xi is fluent in Mandarin.
