Sophie Moher is an associate in our Financial Services and Restructuring and Insolvency Groups. Her practice focuses primarily on international and domestic corporate restructurings with a particular emphasis on cross-border commercial restructurings, including proceedings under the Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act and the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act, as well as informal restructuring proceedings. Before joining Cassels Brock as an associate, Sophie summered and articled with the firm. Sophie also participated in the firm's secondment program at Tenor Capital.
Sophie graduated from the J.D./M.B.A. program at Queen’s University in 2016. During her M.B.A. studies, Sophie had the opportunity to help a start-up company producing Continuing Legal Education materials with their marketing initiatives. In her MBA program, she was awarded the Noranda Sales Corporation/William G. Deeks Award in strategy.
Sophie graduated from McGill University with a Bachelor of Arts and Science in Psychology. During her undergraduate degree, she played on the McGill varsity rugby team and spent a semester at Tel Aviv University in Israel.
Sophie enjoys staying active, cycling and doing yoga. She also enjoys reading and travelling.
