Rebecca Sim is a 2018-2019 articling student at Cassels Brock. She first joined the firm as a summer student in 2017.
Rebecca graduated from the J.D. program at Western University where she was a member of the Dean’s Honour List and a recipient of the Law Society of Upper Canada Prize. In law school, Rebecca was an active member of her student community as a co-director of the Western Law Peer Support program, a Teaching Assistant for a Legal Research, Writing and Advocacy class, and a volunteer for both Pro Bono Students Canada and the Sport Solution Clinic. Rebecca was also the researcher for Western Law’s Gale Moot Cup team. Outside of law school, Rebecca volunteered regularly as a crisis line support worker and she was also a member of multiple intramural teams.
Rebecca graduated with a Bachelor of Honours Arts with a major in Legal Studies and a minor in Sociology from the University of Waterloo. During her time at the University of Waterloo, Rebecca was a member of the varsity cross country running team and she volunteered for Big Brothers Big Sisters Canada. Rebecca was on the President’s Athletic Academic Honour Roll, was an Academic All-Canadian, and graduated with Distinguished Academic Achievement as the top student in her class. Throughout her undergraduate degree, Rebecca also managed her own music studio business and taught piano part time.
Rebecca enjoys spending her time on the North Shore mountains and exploring new running and hiking trails. She also regularly seeks out new local restaurants and microbreweries.
