Paras Patel is a 2018-2019 articling student class. He first joined the firm as a summer student in 2016.
Paras graduated from the J.D./M.B.A program at the University of Toronto. He received the Gerald W. Schwartz Silver Medal for attaining the second-highest cumulative average in the program. In his first year of law school he volunteered with the Association in Defence of the Wrongly Convicted, a non-profit organization that works to remedy injustices in the legal system through education and advocacy. In addition, he volunteered with the LAWS program that brings law students together with high school students to run educational seminars and mentorship programs. Prior to joining Cassels Brock, Paras interned with the commercial real estate law department at Loblaw.
Paras graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Integrated Science from McMaster University. During his four years at McMaster, he earned numerous scholarships for academic excellence, including an NSERC-USRA award to conduct a summer research project in physiology.
Throughout his undergraduate studies Paras was also an executive member of both the McMaster Science Society and the Integrated Science Society. In his spare time he enjoys playing the piano, and is an avid traveller and hiker.
