Layla is a member of the 2019 summer student class at Cassels Brock.
Layla is a J.D. candidate at Western University, Faculty of Law where she is an active member of the law school student community. She is a case worker and a researcher for Pro Bono Students Canada, where she works primarily with the South London Neighborhood Resource Centre. She is also the Co-Chair of Western Law’s Diversity Committee. As a first year law student, Layla worked at a small firm in London, where she gained practical experience in the areas of real estate law and commercial law.
Layla graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree from McGill University. She majored in Political Science and Economics. During her time at McGill, Layla was able to gain valuable experience by interning at a Montreal-based NGO focused on raising awareness about Human Rights abuses in the Middle East. She also spent a summer working as a project officer for a women’s education initiative in Saudi Arabia. Prior to law school, Layla worked in Toronto as an Analyst, Channel Optimization for CIBC where she was involved in the creation of workforce management tools.
In her spare time, Layla loves watching Premier League Football. She is an avid fan of Chelsea FC and the Italian National Football Team. She also enjoys travelling, hiking and cooking.
