Emma Zaltz

Emma Zaltz is a 2018-2019 articling student at Cassels Brock.

Before returning to Cassels as an articling student, Emma summered with the firm. During this time she gained exposure to the firm’s Financial Services, Securities and Business practice areas. Prior to joining Cassels as a summer student, Emma completed an internal consulting project in a partnership between Cassels Brock and Rotman School of Management. Under the guidance of Alison Manzer, she researched and prepared a paper on the intersection of business and law in cases involving conflict of interest.
Emma received her J.D/M.B.A degrees from the University of Toronto in 2018. She was awarded an entrance scholarship to the M.B.A program for her academic achievement. Prior to this, Emma received an Honours Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toronto. During her time as an undergraduate, Emma was a Dean’s List student and graduated with High Distinction. As a law and business student, Emma was actively involved in both communities. She participated in the University of Toronto Faculty of Law Journal Review and worked as a legal research assistant with a special focus on Property and Aboriginal Law Issues. Throughout her M.B.A, Emma was a member of the Women in Management Association and remains committed to promoting the role of women in business positions.

Emma has extensive volunteer experience and is passionate about giving back to the local community. While completing her law degree, she was a student caseworker Downtown Legal Services, a volunteer at the Canadian Centre for Victims of Torture, and the intake manager at Walmer Road Daily Bread Food Bank.
