ProfileYana ErmakYana is an associate in the Competition, Antitrust & Foreign Investment Group. Yana advises Canadian and international clients on a wide variety of competition law matters, including pre-merger clearance, abuse of dominance, marketing and distribution practices, price fixing and compliance. Yana also has extensive experience in foreign investment review issues under the Investment Canada Act. Yana has provided advice to clients in a wide range of industries, including pharmaceutical, manufacturing, retail, media and advertising and telecommunications. Yana has been involved in a number of significant competition law matters, including:
Yana is the author of the Foreign Investment and Competition Law chapters (18 and 19) in the Manzer: Canada – U.S. Commercial Law Guide. Yana has also co-authored a number of articles and papers regarding recent developments in competition law. Additionally, Yana is an active member in the National Competition Law Section of the Canadian Bar Association and the Antitrust Law Section of the American Bar Association. Since 2006, she has been a member of the organizing committee for the Canadian Bar Association’s Annual Fall Conference on Competition Law.
