Profile
Taryn McCormick
Taryn's practice is focused on commercial litigation, product liability litigation, and class action litigation. During the 2006/2007 academic year, she assisted two fellow Cassels Brock lawyers in teaching Civil Procedure to first year students at Osgoode Hall Law School.
Prior to becoming an associate at Cassels Brock, Taryn was with the firm as a summer and articling student. Taryn also provided litigation assistance on a complex litigation case following her first year of law school. Some of her experiences as a student include providing litigation support on a complex commercial litigation file and arguing matters at the Small Claims Court level.
As an articling student, Taryn participated in the firm’s secondment program at the criminal law offices of Greenspan Partners. During that time, she assisted associates and partners with case preparation and research. Taryn attended and participated in bail hearings, preliminary inquiries, set-date appearances, and client meetings. While at Greenspan, White, she also had the unique opportunity to work on a high-profile murder investigation.
As a Summer Student, Taryn spent two months at the Barbra Schlifer Clinic. The Schlifer Clinic provides legal services to women who have survived violence including partner assault and sexual assault.
Taryn is the author of Traffic Jam: Conflicts and Cooperation Between Feminist Perspectives on Global Trafficking in Women (Vancouver: Simon Fraser University, 2002) and the co-author of Blogging in the Workplace – Balancing Rights (Toronto: Law Society of Upper Canada, 2005).
