Sean McGurran is an associate in the Financial Services Group and a member of the Corporate and Regulatory Insurance Practice Group. His practice is focused on corporate and commercial law, with an emphasis on corporate and regulatory matters in the insurance industry.
Sean has worked on a wide variety of mergers and acquisitions involving both public and private companies, and has significant experience drafting and reviewing complex commercial agreements. He has also advised clients on regulatory and government relations issues related to the insurance industry and the financial sector. In addition, Sean has extensive experience advising on compliance with government transparency requirements, including lobbying laws, conflict of interest laws and election finance laws.
While completing his law degree at the University of Windsor, Sean was awarded several distinctions for oral advocacy, including the first place prize in the 2011 Niagara International Moot Court Competition. He spent the summer after his first year of law school working as a municipal prosecutor for the City of Toronto Legal Services.
Sean practised at another national firm prior to joining Cassels Brock.
