Profile
Sari L. Springer
Sari is a partner in the Commercial Litigation group. She practises primarily in the area of employment law with a particular focus on human rights issues. As an employment lawyer, Sari has assisted both employees and employers in understanding and enforcing their rights and obligations in all aspects of the workplace. Sari has a thorough and practical knowledge of all legal issues that arise in the workplace, including employment standards, human rights, wrongful dismissal, pay equity and workplace safety.
Sari prides herself on being resolution oriented. She has been most successful in reaching a large number of amicable settlements on behalf of her clients.
Since not all matters are amenable to resolution, Sari does appear before various boards and tribunals.
A few examples of Sari’s recent work in these areas include:
- Providing opinions and advice to her clients in a proactive way to ensure that their workplace properly complies with the laws in order to avoid litigation or unnecessary disputes in the workplace.
- Educating her clients about their rights and obligations so that contentious or difficult issues can be resolved on a reasonable, equitable and expeditious basis.
- Resolving a significant number of human rights’ cases before the Ontario Human Rights Commission.
- Handling many human rights’ complaints on behalf of post-secondary educational institutions. These cases have always concluded in her clients’ favour by being dismissed at a preliminary stage, settled on a reasonable basis, or successfully litigated.
- Resolving a large number of academic appeals on behalf of post-secondary educational institutions.
In addition to her law practice, Sari has been on the Board of Directors of a private school for approximately ten years. Sari thoroughly enjoys her volunteer work as it affords her the opportunity to perform community service.
Sari joined Cassels Brock in 1990.
