Robert Sniderman is a member of the 2018 summer student class at Cassels Brock.
Robert is a J.D. candidate at the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Law, where he is actively involved in the student community. In 2017, he worked as a Student Caseworker at Downtown Legal Services, representing university students charged with academic offences or appealing grades and terminations. In this role, Robert negotiated with opposing counsel, drafted both written and oral submissions, and appeared before administrative tribunals. He also represented clients in wrongful dismissal matters while working for the clinic’s Employment Division. Outside of the clinic, Robert is a sketch writer and actor for the University of Toronto Law Follies, and volunteered as a mentor with Law in Action Within Schools.
Robert graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toronto with a double major in Ethics, Society and Law, and Cinema Studies. While completing his undergraduate degree, Robert began singing with the University of Toronto Hart House A Cappella Jazz Choir (Onoscatopoeia). He has acted as the Executive Secretary and Assistant Conductor for the choir, helped record the choir’s third CD (Hart and Soul), and continues to sing with the choir today. Robert continued to pursue his love of a cappella by joining the board of directors of SING! The Toronto Vocal Arts Festival – Canada’s only all a cappella festival – in 2015. He acts as Volunteer Coordinator and Secretary for the festival.
In his spare time, Robert enjoys playing instruments, watching movies, and attending the theatre.
