Rishi Hargovan

Rishi is an associate practising in insolvency law and commercial litigation. Prior to joining Cassels Brock as an associate, Rishi worked as both a summer and articling student at the firm. He was involved in a number of matters, including:

  • A major international financial institution pursuing a debtor for misrepresentations
  • Litigation related to the pension obligations of a bankrupt company

Rishi successfully negotiated settlements, made representations at hearings, drafted legal memoranda, pleadings, and factums, interviewed clients and potential witnesses, and assisted with advising clients and responding to client inquiries.

Rishi graduated from the J.D. program at Osgoode Hall Law School. He was awarded the Cassels Brock Centennial Prize in Constitutional Law and the Walter Williston Essay Prize in Civil Liberties. Rishi served as a Negotiation Intern for the Lawyer as Negotiator class and helped to update materials for a LL.M. course on Banking Documentation.

Prior to law school, Rishi completed internships at a major Canadian television news broadcaster and a national film production company. He speaks French and enjoys all things soccer-related.
