Philip Long

Philip is an associate in the Securities Group. His practice focuses on corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions and securities compliance. Philip has acted for public issuers and securities dealers in a wide range of financing transactions, including IPOs, secondary offerings, private placements, and other forms of equity financing. He has also acted for both acquirers and target companies involved in takeover bids, plans of arrangement, reverse takeovers and other business combination transactions. Philip also advises public companies on Canadian securities laws, including corporate governance and continuous disclosure.

Prior to joining Cassels Brock as an associate, Philip was both a summer and articling student with the firm. While in law school, Philip was a member of the Western Business Law Clinic and the recipient of multiple awards.

Phillip’s work experience includes:

  • Acting for EcoSynthetix in its $100 million initial public offering
  • Acting for AzTech Minerals, Inc. in connection with a merger between AzTech and Excelsior Mining Corp.
  • Acting for Alexis Metals Corporation in its acquisition of Garson Gold Corp.
  • Acting for Alexis Metals Corporation in its $20 Million bought deal financing and over-allotment Option
  • Acting for Crocodile Gold in connection with a $32 million bought deal offering
  • Acting for the agent, Clarus Securities Inc., in connection with a $30 million share placement by Azumah Resources Limited
