Jacqueline (Jacquie) Richards is an associate our Business Law Group. Jacquie has experience representing a diverse range of clients primarily in the public and private mergers and acquisitions, private equity, venture capital, commercial real estate and general corporate and commercial sectors.
Prior to joining Cassels Brock as an associate, Jacquie articled at the firm and was also a first and second year summer student in 2013 and 2014 respectively. While summering and articling, Jacquie gained exposure to the firm's Real Estate, Financial Services, Securities and Business practice areas.
Jacquie received a combined JD/MBA from the University of Toronto and Rotman School of Management, with a specialization in Strategic Management from the Rotman School, in 2015. In 2012, she was awarded the Mary Jane Felker Fellowship as a Rotman entrance scholarship for combined degree students. Prior to attending law and business school, Jacquie obtained her Honours Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Political Science at Western University.
During her time at law and business school, Jacquie was involved with the pro bono clinics Downtown Legal Services and Artists’ Legal Advice Services. Jacquie was also an editor for the University of Toronto’s Law Review, a mentor to incoming students with the Peer Mentorship Program, an orientation leader for the classes of 2015 for both the law and business faculties and a regular actor for Law Follies, the law school’s sketch comedy production. She was the features editor of the Faculty of Law's student run newspaper from 2012 to 2014 and was the lead teaching assistant for MBA Business Ethics at the Rotman school.
Before joining Cassels Brock, Jacquie held a marketing, legal and strategic role with an Ontario based microfinance initiative and marketing role with a Toronto based cleantech software and services company.
