Deborah Glatter

Deborah Glatter joined Cassels Brock in 1999 and is the Director of Practice Excellence – Advancement and Career Development. Her mandate is to ensure that our associates receive the training, feedback, quality and variety of work necessary to advance their career, bearing in mind each associate’s individual career development goals. Deborah works one-on-one with each associate to ensure that the firm understands their aspirations and to facilitate their development into excellent lawyers, whether as future partners of the firm, or wherever their aspirations may take them.

Deborah brings an extensive background to the firm in legal education. Deborah was in private practice for 10 years and then joined the Law Society of Upper Canada's Department of Education. In that capacity, she designed and presented courses, trained lawyers to teach in the Bar Admission Course and drafted licensing examinations.

Deborah has completed the course requirements for a Diploma in Adult Education from St. Francis Xavier University. She also holds several qualifications in alternative dispute resolution including the Harvard Law School Mediation Certificate and a Certificate in Alternative Dispute Resolution (Advanced) from the University of Windsor. Deborah was a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada's Dispute Resolution Design Team and Dispute Resolution Subcommittee, and was a Dispute Resolution Officer of the Superior Court of Ontario.

Deborah recently obtained a certificate in Solution Focused Counselling from the University of Toronto, and earned her yellow belt in Legal Lean Sigma.
