Profile

Giancarlo Soppelsa

Giancarlo is an associate in the Securities Group. His experience spans an array of industries including the mineral resources, green technology and energy sectors. 

Giancarlo has experience in corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, and regulatory work. He has assisted on a broad range of matters including public offerings, private placements, and an IPO. Giancarlo has further experience drafting general corporate and commercial documents.

Giancarlo completed his law degree at the University of Toronto. While at law school, he acted as chief returning officer of the Students’ Law Society and presided over the Entertainment Law Society. During his exchange semester in France, he received the Diploma in International and European Law from the Université Jean Moulin in Lyon.

Before joining Cassels Brock as an articling student, Giancarlo summered at a corporate and real estate law practice in Vaughan, Ontario, and interned at a boutique entertainment and media law firm in downtown Toronto.

Giancarlo is fluent in Italian and French.
