Emily Vacy-Lyle is a member of the 2018 summer student class at Cassels Brock.
Emily is a J.D. candidate at the University of Calgary, Faculty of Law. She is an active member of her student community as a volunteer with Student Legal Assistance. Emily will be the first summer student at the Cassels Brock Calgary location. Prior to law school, she spent a summer at a boutique litigation firm in Calgary where she was able to gain practical experience in a legal environment and learn the day-to-day operations of the legal profession and civil procedure.
Emily earned her Bachelor of Science from Dalhousie University with a double major in Biology and Geology where she made the Dean’s Honour Roll. At university she played on a number of intramural sports teams. She also volunteered with the Elizabeth Fry Society and the Canadian Child Abuse Association as a court accompaniment. Prior to joining Cassels, Emily worked as the head server at Cactus Club Cafe.
In her spare time, Emily enjoys hiking and exploring new restaurants. She also enjoys travelling and visited ten countries last year.
