Dessa Nguyen is an associate in our Litigation Group and has a developing practice in the areas of commercial, financial, and construction litigation. Dessa assists clients and senior counsel with a variety of matters, including contractual disputes, professional negligence and liability and fraud claims.
Throughout her time as a law student at the University of Victoria, Dessa was a research assistant to several law professors in the areas of civil procedure, health law and human rights law. Dessa was also heavily involved in numerous volunteer initiatives, including acting as President to the International Human Rights Law Association and Research Supervisor at the Legal Information Clinic.
Prior to joining Cassels Brock, Dessa worked as a lawyer at a boutique litigation firm and articled with a major international firm. Dessa was a participant in both the Civil Claims Duty Counsel project and the Queen’s Bench Amicus program, providing free legal advice and assisting self-represented litigants before the Court. She was also a co-founder of a successful restaurant in downtown Calgary.
