David A. Redmond

David is the leader of the firm’s Real Estate Practice Group and his practice encompasses all types of commercial real estate transactions. He has a sophisticated commercial mortgage lending practice acting for institutional lenders dealing with all types of financing for commercial properties, including multi-residential, office, shopping centre and industrial developments. David also has extensive experience in purchase and sale transactions, financing and structuring of real estate transactions, commercial leasing, joint ventures and co-ownerships, dealing with REITs and work involving all asset classes in the commercial real estate field.

Representative Work

  • Acted for the Purchaser in the acquisition and financing of a major retail shopping centre in Mississauga, Ontario
  • Represented the Lender in a $100,000,000 portfolio mortgage loan to a retail REIT
  • Counsel for a major Canadian Retailer in all aspects of its real estate work, including acquisitions, leasing, dispositions and the negotiations of reciprocal easement and operating agreements
  • Acted for the Purchaser of a large multi-residential unit portfolio (1500 units) in the GTA area
  • Represented a crown agency in a complicated land exchange transaction dealing with development properties in downtown Toronto
  • Represented a crown agency in their development and sale of formerly contaminated lands in downtown Toronto
  • Acted for the Purchaser in the acquisition and financing of several office buildings
