Chad Aboud

Chad is an associate in the Securities Group. He represents both investment dealers and public companies in a variety of transactions including corporate financings, mergers and acquisitions, and general securities compliance matters.

Chad obtained a JD/MBA degree from Osgoode Hall Law School and the Schulich School of Business. While in the joint program, Chad was the recipient of the Dean’s Gold Key Award, the JD/MBA Student Award and the Steven R. Huta Memorial Prize.

Chad has worked on a number of transactions, including:

  • Acting for the agents in Sarama Resources Ltd.'s $16 million initial public offering
  • Acting for the underwriting syndicate in Algonquin Power & Utilities Corp.'s $85 million public offering
  • Acting for the agents in Queenston Mining Inc.'s $25 million sale of flow-through common shares
  • Acting for the agents in a $2.2 million private placement of Bold Ventures Inc.
  • Representing Ryan Gold Corp. in its $52 million private placement of units and flow-through shares
  • Acting for the underwriting syndicate in Discovery Air Inc.’s $30 million bought deal public offering of convertible debentures
  • Acting for the underwriting syndicate in Ethiopian Potash Corp.’s $11 million private placement of subscription receipts
  • Acting for the underwriting syndicate in QHR Technologies Inc.’s $8 million public offering of units

Chad is a soccer enthusiast, and is a member of the Toronto entry in the bi-annual Mundiavocat Lawyers World Cup of Soccer.

Prior to joining Cassels Brock as an associate, Chad was both an articling and summer student with the firm.
