Caitlin Russell is an associate in our Litigation Group with a focus on labour and employment law and securities litigation.
Caitlin regularly acts for clients engaged in civil and regulatory employment proceedings, having appeared before the Divisional Court, Ontario Superior Court of Justice, Small Claims Court, Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario, Ontario Labour Relations Board and at private mediations. Caitlin is also experienced in providing workplace training and advice to employers on employment contracts, terminations, human rights issues and workplace policies and procedures. Caitlin is a regular contributor to employerlawblog.ca, which follows current trends in Canadian employment law, with a particular focus on issues faced by Ontario employers.
Prior to joining Cassels Brock as an associate, Caitlin was both a summer and articling student at the firm. During her articles Caitlin was involved in a wide variety of litigation matters and assisted with the update to the Watson & McGowan "Annual Survey of Recent Developments in Civil Procedure."
Caitlin graduated in 2012 with a J.D. from Queen’s University Faculty of Law. At law school, Caitlin was the recipient of the Queen's Law Camaraderie Award for her work with the Women and Law group. Prior to attending law school, Caitlin obtained an Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Guelph where she graduated with distinction and stood on the Dean’s Honour List. While at Guelph, she worked as a teaching assistant in the College of Management and Economics.
