ProfileAfzal HasanAfzal Hasan is a 2011 - 2012 articling student at Cassels Brock. He joined the firm as a summer student in 2010. Afzal was seconded to the Mergers and Acquisitions Group in the Corporate Finance Branch of the Ontario Securities Commission (OSC), where he reviewed discretionary relief applications from takeover bid regulations. Afzal graduated from the J.D. program at the University of Toronto. During law school, he served as a senior editor for the University of Toronto Journal of Law and Equality and volunteered at Pro Bono Law Ontario. Afzal also worked for a non-governmental organization in Thailand, where he compiled a training manual for use by indigenous peoples in tackling human rights issues. Prior to attending law school, Afzal received a B.Sc. with distinction in Commerce and Human Biology from Trinity College at the University of Toronto. While pursuing his undergraduate studies, Afzal performed independent research in microbial genetics and worked as an intern in the wholesale banking division of a major international bank. Afzal is an enthusiast of South and South-East Asian politics and cuisine. Representative Work |
