Published: 06/09/2010

On June 9, 2010, Cassels Brock partner Signe Leisk was awarded an inaugural Precedent Setter Award by Precedent magazine. Signe's active role in helping to develop the careers of younger female lawyers at the firm through activities such as taking a leadership role on the Women's Professional Development Committee and mentoring young female lawyers and law students was profiled in an article called, "Precedent Setter: Signe Leisk."

The article also included:

Signe's 5 Ways to Promote Women

  1. Approach the discussion from a financial perspective.
  2. Remind them that most issues that affect women usually affect male associates as well.
  3. Solidarity is powerful.
  4. It’s not enough to just talk.
  5. Get the men involved.

The Precedent Setter Awards recognize lawyers in their first 10 years of practice who have shown excellence and leadership in their practices and in their communities.
