Shane Hardy was interviewed by James Munro of 680 News, to discuss the registration of sound marks in Canada. Sound marks are like any other trade-marks, in that they can be recognized and identified as part of a company's distinctive branding. An example of a sound mark would be the NBC chimes or the roar of the MGM lion.

Canada has lagged behind other jurisdictions when considering sound marks, and other trade-marks that are not visible in scope, but that is changing due to recent changes to regulations.
