Paul Stein Appointed to Financial Leadership Council National Working Group
Paul Stein has been appointed to a special working group, established by the Financial Leadership Council, to develop recommendations to maintain and build Canada's position as the leading global hub for mining, metals and energy financing and trading. The working group, chaired by Kevan Cowan, President, TSX Markets and Group Head of Equities, will focus on increasing the number of international exchange listings, expanding the financing market in Toronto and supporting job creation in investment banking, corporate banking and ancillary services. A report will be submitted to the federal and provincial ministers of finance and the Financial Services Leadership Council in approximately six months.
The Financial Leadership Council is a newly-formed committee of 15 CEOs from Canada's largest financial services companies, along with Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty, Federal Finance Minister Jim Flaherty, Toronto Mayor David Miller and Ontario Finance Minister Dwight Duncan. It is chaired by former Manulife CEO Dominic D'Alessandro. For more information, visit: http://www.newswire.ca/en/releases/archive/November2009/23/c4075.html.
