Lawrence Herman Discusses Buy American Preferences in the Financial Post and on the Business News Network
On February 5, 2010, Lawrence Herman was quoted in a Financial Post article titled "Protectionism 'Breakthrough' Reached," where he commented on the deal announced with the US to allow Canadian companies access to bidding opportunities in state and local projects funded by the US stimulus program. In return, the US has agreed to provide Canadian suppliers with access to state and local public works projects in a range of programs funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. Larry commented that: "There was a critical mass of support in the United States that something needed be done to get Canada back into the procurement business - and get Canada qualified to supply into US projects with stimulus funding." He was also interviewed by the Business News Network's (BNN) Pat Boland, CBC's The National and CTV's Power Play on the same issue.
