In The NewsEllen Bessner Discusses Sino Forest on Howard Green's Headline on BNNPublished: 08/26/2011 Ellen Bessner, a partner in the Securities Litigation group, was interviewed on Howard Green's Headline on BNN to discuss the latest developments with Sino Forest, after share trading was halted on the TSX pursuant to the Friday, September 26 "cease trade" order from the Ontario Securities Commission. The OSC statement indicates the company may have engaged in activities contrary to Ontario securities laws and the public interest. Although the order also called for the removal of senior executives, this portion of the order was later rescinded. This news comes on the heels of a downgrading of Sino's credit rating and a delay in a key investigation being undertaken by PricewaterhouseCoopers. Sino Forest came under scrutiny last June after claims of fraud were levelled against them and shares have fallen over 60% since that time. The full clip can be viewed here. |
