In The NewsCassels Brock Band Wins AIDSBeat and Raises Over $5000 for CANFARPublished: 10/19/2009 On October 16, 2009, The Right Honourable Jake and the High Court of Soul, a band composed of Cassels Brock lawyers, including Partners John McGowan (Employment Law) and Jake Bullen (Business Law), out-performed all other bands to win AIDSBeat in front of a sold-out crowd of 1,200. The Right Honourable Jake and the High Court of Soul also sold the most event tickets, winning the honour of performing in the coveted 10pm time slot. Cassels Brock ticket sales raised over $5000 for AIDSbeat 2009. AIDSBeat is an annual "Battle of the Bands" charity event involving members of the Bay Street legal community. In one night, over $230,000 was raised by the legal community. $1.8 million in total has been raised by AIDSBeat since the event's debut 14 years ago. All proceeds benefit the Canadian Foundation for AIDS Research (CANFAR). |
