The Accor/Fairmont deal was recently highlighted in American Lawyer magazine as part of its quarterly feature on "Canadian Big Deals."
Writes American Lawyer: "The French hotel group AccorHotels is checking into the Fairmont, Raffles and Swissôtel brands, with the acquisition of Toronto-headquartered parent company FRHI Holdings Ltd. for approximately $2.9 billion in stock and cash. The deal includes 155 hotels and resorts, such as The Savoy in London, Fairmont Le Château Frontenac in Quebec and The Plaza in New York."
