On April 8, 2011, John McKeown will be a panelist at a session entitled, "The New gTLDs: What Trademark Owners and Their Attorneys Need to Know." The panel discussion will be part of the American Bar Association's 26th Annual Intellectual Property Law Conference.

The discussion will address the legal and practical issues related to iCANN’s expansion of generic top level domains (gTLDs). The panelists will provide a basic background on the topic and discuss the impact of the new gTLDs on trademark owners, how they can register and use new gTLDs, and protect their brands against cyber-squatters.
