Confidentiality, Privacy and Security

On June 7, 2011, Bernice Karn will be speaking on the topic of "Confidentiality, Privacy and Security" at the IT.Can and the Law Society of Upper Canada's Information Technology Law Spring Forum.

Bernice will address the following during her talk:

• Understanding the dependencies between confidentiality, privacy and security provisions
• Assessing the need to include confidentiality, privacy and security provisions
• Determining the scope of the provisions and the consequences for non-compliance
• Implementing the practices necessary for compliance

Ms. Karn is a partner in the Information, Communications & Entertainment Group. She practises intellectual property law, with an emphasis on technology, licensing and distribution issues. Bernice acts for clients involved in software distribution, data management, outsourcing and data security. She also advises on privacy issues.
