University of Toronto Partners with Coursera to Offer Free Online ProgramsPublished: 07/19/2012 By Bernice Karn In a major development, the top ranked University of Toronto has joined forces with Coursera, a US-based company that offers free “massive open online courses,” or MOOCs. This fall, U of T will make 5 classes available through its partnership with Coursera to test the appeal of free online classes. Bernice Karn of Cassels Brock acted for U of T in negotiating the online hosting and course services agreement including the terms and conditions under which U or T agreed to participate in the project, as one of the second group of elite universities selected.
