The Canada Consumer Product Safety Act: A New Regime of Consumer Product Oversight Throughout the Supply Chain

Further to its Food and Consumer Safety Action Plan, on June 20, 2011 the Government of Canada brought into force legislation that implements new and very significant Health Canada oversight over consumer products in Canada. The Canada Consumer Product Safety Act (“CCPSA”) has a significant impact on manufacturers, importers/exporters, advertisers and sellers (at wholesale or retail) of consumer products.
