Municipal, Planning & EnvironmentalMunicipal, Planning & Environment Group e-LERT - Provincial Development Facilitator Appointed for Simcoe Growth StrategyPublished: 03/31/2011 On March 25, 2011, the Provincial Government directed the Office of the Provincial Development Facilitator (“PDF”) to work with local municipalities in the Simcoe area in considering a broad wide range of municipal concerns and planning issues as part of the ongoing implementation of Proposed Amendment 1 to the Growth Plan for the Greater Golden Horseshoe (“Proposed Amendment”). A summary of the Proposed Amendment released on October 28, 2010 is contained in our Municipal, Planning and Environmental Group e-LERT of November 2010. Following the release of the Proposed Amendment, the Provincial Government embarked on further consultation which concluded on January 31, 2011. The County of Simcoe and local municipalities requested the assistance of the PDF over a year ago to assist in breaking the logjam regarding approval of outstanding official plan appeals and to build consensus in informing the Proposed Amendment.
