Following the tragic events on 9/11, the Government of Canada has provided a temporary indemnification for third-party aviation war risk liability for essential aviation service operators in Canada. On December 9, 2010, the federal Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities extended the Aviation War Risk Liability Program for the period from January 1, 2011 to December 31, 2013.
